Hi,
Does anyone have one of these engines available?
If so, please PM me the details.
Kind regards,
Cormac.
EDIT: As I seem to be hitting early senility, I forgot to mention that I'm in the Republic of Ireland.

I have not seen this engine rebuilt before but there are several used engines on EBay.
Do you want a rebuilt engine only?
You could call Jasper as they are a huge engine rebuilder.

Just add it to your profile once via user cp/edit your details and you won't have to think about it again. It will appear in each post in the upper right corner.

I know a guy in Australia with a 4.2 S/C engine from a 2008 XKR that's only got 28000km on it, if you are willing to wait 12-16 weeks for sea freight shipping wouldn't be too expensive.
You can fit an external controller to run the VVT like Crocodile62 did.

Cormac,
I'm not trying to start a war or anything but I've added WTB [United Kingdom] to your thread title.![Icon Lol](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
There's no Eire available in the location selection and UK is close enough geographically to help with relevant replies.

Yep, he's still got it, blokes name is Andrew, he's actually listed it on ebay, you can see his contact details in the listing Jaguar XKR 4 2 Supercharged Engine AND Trans | eBay he's listed the engine and transmission together, talk with him about splitting it.
To fit this 4.2 into a '99 model you will have to make some minor modifications, as well as adding an external controller for the VVT, have a look at this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...k-4-2-a-23763/

Thanks for that. Will make contact with Andrew today. Just a query on the VVT point, I wasn't aware the supercharged engine had VVT. Is this specific to XKR's?
Cheer again for your help.

The AJ34S engines got VVT, the AJ33S was no VVT.
VVT was included on the supercharged 4.2 in
X350/X358 XJ from VIN G49701 to end
X206 S-Type R from VIN N52048 to end
X150 XKR all 4.2
X250 XF all 4.2

Wow that was quick, I need to ask Andrew for a commission ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Have a look in this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...s-quest-33023/ crocodile62 talks about how he put an XF 4.2 s/c in his S-Type R.
Regarding the controller, there would be lots of different ones available, he mentioned using one with a Pulse Width Modulated output originally meant to run a water/meth injection pump.
Basically you just need an input (rpm) and an output in PWM, where you can adjust it.
You are lucky that the X150 XKR uses the same style of charge-cooler layout like the 4.0L in the X308, should make it easier to do the swap..
There will be some bits & pieces that you need to swap over, but it should all be there in Avos' thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...63/#post136708

That's good I had just fitted a water/meth setup along with a nitrous kit before the head gasket went. And no I hadn't tried it. I saw the intercooler setup in the photos and wondered what would need to be changed. My TB has been maxibored and have a 92mm maf so I will use these and see what else needs to be changed. I told Andrew where I found out about his engine so beers my be already on the way. Cheers
