Wanted XK8 coupe. Needing repair ok. Looking for a project.

 

I was just going through Craigs List Chicago and ran across a 97 Blue XK8 Coupe with a blown engine. The picture of the car doesnt look bad.
If I didnt already have a project in the garage i'd be tempted to take a look.

I would keep an eye on the Dallas and Houston CL. I was checking a daily to see what pops up.


For a project, you really want a rust free project.


I bought my running/driving, all electrics working, 100% rust free 84K mile '97 Coupe with 9 body/8 original paint/8 interior for $4,500 last week and I could have probably knocked another $500 off, but I felt bad for the seller.


With Gas $1.49/gallon it's worth the trip south to pick up the right car if you are going to keep it for a while, though if I lived in Chicago, I would have likely bought that blue one... and just bought a case of Kroil.
