Default Gorilla nuts on a Jaguar #73138T

A while back I went though the purchase of some replacement lug-nuts for my 05 STR because of the issues others had had and I was putting in some new brake pads. I ended up using the Gorilla brand chrome as spec-ed for a Lexus ES350. Now that I've finally gotten around to putting them on I can report that they fit fine but utilize a different socket size. I think it's 13/16" so I picked up a nice inexpensive long handled torque wrench in a case, socket and extension at Harbor Freight and that's what I carry in the trunk. These were very reasonably priced. The finish was decent.

Gorilla #73138T $63 inc. shipping.

They're on Ebay but I bought them over the phone.

Good info Bob. I had a Gorilla set (with a security lug for each wheel - and a socket for the security lug) on my X type. Fit and finish on them was very good. They were also 13/16ths.

I highly recommend this socket set for protecting the finish on the bolt holes on the wheel:

I'll let you torque those Gorilla Nutz.....

The thread is 12 x 1.50 and the nut size is 13/16ths for this particular product.

Yeah, those look nice. After all we're talking about some sensitive parts here ...

Ahhh, I might be more concerned about just who DOES want to knock on
your door ...

But this does remind me of a suggestion I had at this summer's invite to drive the 2011 XFR and XJ supercharged cars at the Monticello track. A very nice event indeed.

Well I noted that the standard cars WO superchargers looked the same as those with the supercharger (R models excepted). MY suggestion was that those with supercharger have a modified leaper on the trunk sportin' a set of nuts!

Wow this thread is epic off-topic. Awesome!

If someone makes a Leaper with a set of cajones, that would be quite interesting. As much as the "truck nutz" seen on pickups around here is in poor taste, somehow it would seem ok to have a pair on an STR/XFR Leaper.....

..if those nutz were just a tad bit bigger I would definitely put it on my STR

I forgot to mention that they inflate a bit under boost ...

Of course lighting them up would be in poor taste ...

Absolutely. Lighting them up is where I draw the line.

Next thing you know the guys with the 1.5 and 2.5lb supercharger pulleys will be bragging how big their Leaper Nutz inflate compared to the stockers.

And a twin screw supercharger's boost would impede your frontward visibility.....
