I'm dredging my memory banks but I think it connects to a device to prevent the battery draining during transportation and is removed before sale.

Ah, I hope you are right. Just weird that I've never noticed it before. I was checking the tire pressure of the spar when I saw it laying routed along the rear of the truck by the battery. I was worried it was for a backup sensor or somthing, but that seams to work, as well as all my lights.

Thanks for the help.

Outstanding information, I never thought of using the search to look for random wire in trunk. Oh wait, I did. I got a **** ton of results, nothing close to what I was talking about before I got tired of reading thread after thread about random wires or installing speakers. So I used what I thought was a good resource for information, a public forum specific to my vehical. I was sure that is what a Forum was used for. But I guess I found the SEARCH police. The amount of effort you used to find a sarcastic way to tell me about a "search" future on a forum you could have just said, "Up he's right" or not even said anything at all.

With that rant being said, and over... Thank you for the conformation. Peace of mind.

Edit: I just tried Google search via jaguarforums, and I got much better results. Only 34 threads matching my search parameters, and I did find ONE earlier post with pictures of SEVERAL random wires. Most were for options not used for that vehicle, but none-the-less found my answer.

That wire is for the optional ejector seat... But that was only a UK market spy option.....

Sorry.... Just Kidding... Yea, it's for the transport / storage device...
