I cannot speak for the majority of individuals. I came across this post because someone needed help. I have "proven" items that work and have offered that information in complete confidence that should someone order the product numbers I've offered, they will have success. The cost is minimal. 7 dollars plus for the 19" and a little more than 10 for the 24".

If you would like to use nappa products, help yourself. I have never used the Nappa product but can tell you for sure, rain-x does not work. There is another part from Trico that work and I have them on my 2005 STR right now. I'm posting pictures of additional trico blades that I have on my 2005 STR right now. Its a free world. You're free to take this advice or keep searching and discussing..... possibilities. I wish you well no matter your choice.

David,

There are indeed several ways to skin this cat. We have offered multiple solutions. You have verified that your Trico blades are perfect fits because you are running them. I have verified that my NAPA inserts are perfect fits because I am running them (I'm on my second pair in 4-plus years of owning our 2005 S-Type). It is now up to the struggling owners to decide which path to pursue. I hope they will report back here with their results....

I acknowledge that finding appropriate wiper blade replacements for these cars can be extremely frustrating. The 24-inch length with a 6mm claw width is the issue. The vast majority of 24-inch blades come in 8mm claw widths, and they simply don't fit on the blade arms....

Oh and by the way, the blades I posted pictures of are not listed anywhere as 2005 Jaguar S-Type R compatible, but I have them on my car now and they're a Perfect Fit. Here's pictures.

Oh, and these cost more than the ones in the thread that I have attached with the prior Trico part numbers. I don't know how long these last as I've just put them on two days ago. The others lasted close to a 7 months, that the 7 dollar plus and 10 dollar plus ones. Price was more around 37 to 40 for the pair

I've got autozone, advance, and napa near me.

None of them appear to have the Trico inserts when I search the web sites.

I ended up ordering some from Orielly (not in my area) and having them sent.
Be about 5 days to get here.

At this point I give it a 50% chance of being the right ones.
Sorry but I'm getting a little jaded.

This was supposed to be the easiest of the 4 things I need to have fixed on this car in order to get it to pass inspection.

We'll see how the other 3 go.
Thanks for the info.
For the record also, neither of the Trico's I've mentioned are "INSERTS". They are entire blades with rubbers attached to them that mount directly to the 2005 STR with the "rare" window washer nozzle. I never mentioned Trico and refill in the same sentence. If you look up the part numbers I've provided, you'll see they're not inserts.

Editorial comments have been removed.

Who's going to be the first to try a Highlander blade? We already know the lug nuts fit.

Default Belated follow-up

Just FYI I ordered two sets of wipers over the internet.

One set was an old set of NAPA from "some guy" on ebay in Texas.

The other was Trico blades 45-245 from Orielly Auto Parts.

They both worked. Whew. Finally.

The other issues for inspection were front brake pads...did them myself with no problems, headlight droop ($0.23 fix due to the posts on this board), and a bad tire (took it to the barrio for a llanta usada). Unbelievable that the wiper inserts were so difficult...but lesson learned...and I'm very happy to be back on the road.

I'll try other options in this thread if need be in the future.
