crap.....torque converter acting up again.........
Well, it appeared again. I guess its time to drop her off and get it done. Other then that, i noticed some odd cupping of the front tires too. May as well get that looked at too. Gotta get ahold of the warranty company now, i was hoping i wouldnt have to. oh well

say your doing 50-60 mph, and you gently accelerate ever so slightly, you get a feeling of either the engine misfiring or slipping....... going uphill increases the feeling. If you hit the gas a little harder it goes away for a time. Now it finally threw the code, but reset itself after the car turned off and back on again. I'll let you all know how it goes from here though.

Well, went to the dealer this morning. Good news is they actually sell the warranty company i have at the dealer. Bad news i have to wait till monday to drop it off. May take more than a week to get it fixed. I guess we'll see how it goes from here. Cross your fingers and hopefully i wont have to scream at anybody!!!

Dealer just called me, said, "yep needs a torque converter". Said the cupping issue was alignment issue. And said the tires are cupped and i need new ones. Also said the howling noise i hear, is actually the tires.
Now, i have to say my first trip to the dealer has been painless (so far), and they were really nice (so far), and attentive (so far). Im kinda impressed right now (so far).

nope i will do that myself. I have an alignment machine at my uncles shop and i know somewhere on here are updated alignment specs. Also i want to get rid of those tires anyway, im thinking about getting the nexen anyway. Also i am ordering front pads for now, and waiting until july/august then ordering the cross drilled set for front and rear. Main concern is the torque converter right now, then the tires and alignment and pads.

well i picked her up this afternoon, i missed that smell of leather. Funny how the Jag does that to your senses. She is running very smooth right now. Next on this list:
1. Get rid of ridiculously noisy tires!!!!! Looks like im gonna try out the Nexen's
2. Cross drilled brakes all the way around, where is that link at again?
3. Subwoofer installation.
4. Alarm/Remote Start Installation w/ Cellular tracking
5. IPOD interface

I have had a similar message on the dash telling me 'transmission fault', but only at say 55mph in overdrive or climbing up a hill in a high ratio on light loads, it appears also.
The odd thing is there are no symptoms whatsoever, and it always resets after switch off.
The dealers tell me it is to do with the converter or solenoid.
I dont have the code it through out here to tell you.

Crap German technology?
The car has only done 25,000 miles one previous owner with full Jaguar history!
It is an early STR 2002 preproduction. Utterly reliable otherwise!
I have changed the original rear tyres to a current model Pirelli; I think they are the '4 Seasons' models; excellent I would highly recommend them. The cheapest I could find them here in Australia.....$500 each. One warning.....DO NOT BUY ANY OF THE CHINESE BRANDS and I would probably avoid anything made in China.
I have also fitted the ipod interface. It took a while but I got there. I picked it up on my last trip to New York......Everything is double here to what you guys pay in the States!
Good luck with everything else.
