Help or Did I do this with P-0303?
2005 S-type 3.0 75k
I just went about 3 miles. Stopped the car- started and got rough idle- drove home, when I accelerated i got a flashing CEL.
Checked it as soon as I got home and had p0303 and p1313, p1316,. and p0306. I reset CEL drove around a touch and p 0306 has gone away and I have p 0303 still. Yesterday i degreased and washed the engine quite heavily.. . Is it possible I got the coils wet and it is causing an intermittent problem?
Number 3 is in the middle on the manifold side. Can I get that out without moving the manifold?
The fact that the 0306 went away lends me to thinking I got something wet--
any suggestions???.
Should I take the connection off 3 and reseed. Anything else between the coil and the ecm that could cause the problem. It moves in and out of restricted performance. If I idle it at 3000 rpm or 1500 rpm or 4000rpm it seems to run smoothly
Thanks for the help I think my real bottom line question is whether or not I got something in the coil or olug wet and need to let it dry and take it out and dry it.

I'll wash my Dodge Ram's engine bay in a heartbeat using Gunk engine cleaner spray and my trusty garden hose. But knowing how these Jaguars despise water under the hood, I have never washed them and never will. I clean them using nothing but a little silicone spray on an old rag and a lot of elbow grease. It's a hassle but it keeps the Jaguar throttle bodies and spark plugs happy....

Having driven it I am about 85% back to normal and I think I will remove or at least see if #3 is slightly wet today. Something tells me if i wait it out the problem would be gone.
I drove the car last night for about an hour and had it up to 75. At idle in D is will now have an occasional miss- in neutral none. No restricted performance and only when I accelerate more strongly do I feel the little tug and then the CEL will flash, but once I back off it is fine and flashing CEL goes away. When I first started today and it first showed the problem, then it was really shaking. When I sit at a light in neutral and ac on- back to where it should be. Normal speeds without jack rabbiting the car (which I never do anyway) and it is fine. Just those extension of idle and the compressor kicks on or at a certain speed and trying to accelerate more aggressively. Either the degreaser or the water or both got to the electric pack, I am guessing Could I have any permanent damage to the pack or is it just waiting to dry out completely?

Now- no problem!
Just to let you know, I had to do nothing after driving an hour last night. Drove the car this morning and evening- had zero problems jumped into sport shifting and was going up a hill at about 60 when I pushed the passing gear and zip - zero no problem. Ran as high as 125 MPH today- no problem. My doing with over-cleaning and now fine.
Thanks
