Need 2 (poss 4) original S-Type wheels
Hi, Jag told me I have incorrect wheels on my rears. 275/40/18's. While my front are 245/40/18's. I understand they are XK wheels. Put on car before my time. Anybody out there have a set of 4 wheels in good condition they would like to off load or Part X. My ones are real nice set of Alloys, but I am getting ABS issues and wonder if this might be the root cause. I am based in SW London. Cheers.

Those sizes are miles wrong!
I have an STR and it has correct wheels+tyres:
rear 275/35R18, front 245/40R18
(these would be bad rears to fit to a car with half the HP i.e. a 3.0)
If you use a tyre size calculator you'll see my wheels end up almost identical rolling diameter. Yours are way out.
Be sure to tell your insurers you have a modified car until you sort it out or you may well be uninsured!

Jag said my front 245/40/18's are correct. I only need 2 of the same to get the car back to normal. Any web links? where I can buy, Ebay etc? I am based in SW London. PS: The alloys I have on now appear to be a nice flash set but I just want to get the originals back on and cure and reduce the problems I am having. Main problem is LIMP HOME MODE. Engine Fault, Park Break error, DSC ERROR. And a christmas tree dash.

If you can post a picture of the wheels you have on your car, it would be easier to figure out which ones you have, and which ones you need.
In any case I doubt that oversized tyres on the rear are contributing to the "LIMP HOME MODE. Engine Fault, Park Break error, DSC ERROR. And a christmas tree dash." that sounds more like a bad battery to me...

What you need regardless of wheel size, is a wheel and tire combination that turn
the same number of revolutions per mile front and rear.
Actually having the numbers would have been sensible far earlier in the thread.
Here are the numbers:
245/40/18: 784.6
275/40/18: 756.8
Tire Size Calculator
If you put 245/40/18 tires on the rear wheels, the
front and rear speed sensors will see that same rate of revolution.
The easiest way to find out if the theory that the different tires are causing
a problem is to borrow two 245/40/18 tires on wheels and mount them on
the rear. If the problem persists, fix it while the 245/40/18 are still on the
car. If the problem clears, then put 245/40/18 tires on the existing rear
wheels.

Any spec sheets for the 245's found at tirerack.com will give the
nominal rating wheel width, and the permissible wheel widths.
Jaguar tends to size tires at the minimum wheel width for
any given size. Sub-optimal, but that's what they do.

I've posted this other places, but it might be relevant here...
Any of the wheels listed below will fit your car provided you don't select a smaller wheel (e.g, 16") and have large brake rotors.

S-Type R models have "staggered" wheels & tyres i.e. wider at the back than the front, the other S-Type models have the same size wheel all round.
Tyre width is measured in mm e.g. 245, but the wheel width is measure in inches e.g. 8", 8.5", etc...
If you just post a picture of the wheels currently on your car it will be extrememly easy to give you some proper advicre, until then it's all just noise...
Take a photo of the front wheel, and the back wheel, post it up here.

Ignoring the STR, which is not the car in question, I think all came with front & rear the same (wheels aka rims as well as tyres aka tires). 245 is mm and is a tyre width here.
The suspension will be stressed in ways not designed if the rears are 275mm tyres (I'm assuming on suitable i.e. wider wheels than the car was made for).
Just buy 2 more of the proper wheels & tyres for the rear. You may be able to sell the current rears for more money and make a profit.
I dread to think whether the car is even roadworthy under English law but don't find out - just get rid of those wrong wheels!
