Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you, been a bit busy with the new arrival & i really wanted to have a closer look at the setup in the XJR before jumping in & buying the elbow.
Here are some more pics from the XJR;
Here looking from the side.
With the factory intake off you can really see the odd angle between the outlet of the airbox and the intake between the charge coolers.
The flexible bellows section on the factory intake compensates for the airbox outlet being angled forwards.
I looked again at the pictures of the STR's and the outlet of the airbox is seems to be at a different angle to the XJR.
Of course it's very hard to tell from just pictures online...but i guess it would be the same as goblue90's pic HERE?
And lastly the clearance of the intercooler coolant hoses underneath the intake elbow;
Is that the same mess as the STR? Because the OEM intake actually has a slot molded into it to allow one of the hoses to sit underneath.
Anyone have any comments before I bite the bullet? It'll fit?

Just cut it about a half inch on both sides, or .75 on the filter side and .25 on the intercooler side. Just a good cheap mod, very satisfied!
PM me if you want the other half of my stock breather tube that I cut, for a reasonable price, so you can retain your full uncut tube in case you ever want to go back to stock.

Yep, get the air intake elbow. The worst is to cut the connector bellows a bit here or there. Otherwise, it looks identical to the STR.

I think it should fit too! I'm going to ship this one out and based on your input, I may do a run for the xjr guys. We'll be waiting for your input as this is about an easy of a mod you can get for these cars that makes good power.

Hello I was wondering if you still had any of the intake elbows? I just recently bought a 2005 XJR and I was hoping that this would fit my car. Any info would be great Thanks

Hi there. I will be shipping one out this week to a member that is fitting it on a xjr. So, we should know shortly if it will fit. I do have 2 left if I recall. We'll see how the test fitting goes and then go from there.

Here are the pics you've been waiting for!
Took about 30 minutes to fit in the end.
Been out for a drive, no error codes, and a brand new whine from the blower;
I'm afraid my **** dyno isn't sensitive enough to pick up a 10HP increase, but based on the results from the STR's i'm confident there is an improvement, it certainly feels more responsive.
I bought a new breather hose so I wouldn't have to cut up my existing one.
Cost £22.29 incl shipping from the UK, www.davidmanners.co.uk took 2 weeks and that was with the part on backorder.
Now, about the installation, I feel there is a little room for improvement.
1. The hose clamps could be a little smaller on the tube itself, currently 3.5" could easily be 3.25" or even 3"
2. It would be nice to have a small bend at the airbox end, maybe 15° or so, just so it lines up a bit better.
3. I would also like it if the throttle end could be flared into an enlarged oval shape to better match the intake.
4. I would like it made from plastic
But hey, it fits, and it works, not bad!

Nice! There you go Cambo. Whine is intoxicating huh? Don't worry, there's 10+ more kitties under that lid. Periodic purging of adaptive learning helps to uncover them too.

Hey Cameron, glad to hear it worked out. If I ever do another run, I have a few ideas on how to correct the angle to the mass air sensor. All my experience says removing the silencers and smoothing out airflow is worth hp. Eaton supercharged applications in general are very inlet restriction sensitive.

This mod looks good I would be interested when more are available for the XJR. What are you charging for the kit? Cambo what exhaust set up are you running? Are you still getting no error codes?

My car is mechanically stock, for now at least, except for the intake tube.
I was worried about P0171 + P0174 which is both banks too lean = vacuum leak.
But it's all tight as a nut. A very effective mod for the money + time involved.

To reset the engine adaptations, you need to disconnect the battery (both cables) for about 10mins, and then touch both cables together. This drains the capacitors that maintain the "memory" in the ECU.
Why? Well when the engine conditions change, i.e. more airflow from the intake elbow, then the ECU has to learn these new conditions and adjust accordingly. Re-setting the adaptations speeds up the learning process.
I haven't done it yet because I can't be bothered re-programming the windows and the radio stations...again...
