Mafioso has been trying to get a stock fitting for it but the company wants mass quantities ordered. I have had mine split once. I bought a new one as its a standard PCV fitting for a Ford 5.4L and is found in most Auto parts stores help section. I put the hose clamp on and have not had a problem since. If you are worried about it get a spare and carry a screw driver with you in case it goes while you are on a trip. I did the drive to the meet with no problems with mine and that was with some spirited driving coming back.

I just used a one peice 3/4" reinforced silacone hose on mine with hose clamps. Seams to work fine and I have run a lot of pressure with that type hose with no issues in the past.

I would just like a basic black elbow for my 2005 STR. Are you guys just using a drop in k&n in the factory air box with the elbow? Not a big fan of K&N and the oil.

^ Yep. I have the basic black, with a K&N drop in. Works great. Just don't get carried away with the oil. I've been using K&N's for 15 years or so on all my vehicles without a problem. I like the washability factor. The oil thing is a bit overblown IMHO. But let's not get that going again or this thread will go off the rails.

Broncobra, ditto to Chris on the K&N a/f. As mentioned, only lightly oil after cleaning, avoid saturating by allowing the oil to permeat through the fibers before applying more oil. The drop in K&N and Mafioso air intake elbow is a big plus to breathing. Do a 3 lb. pulley and low temp thermo, then unplug her butt with hi-flow cats, x-pipe, replace stock center resonator with a pair of flow through resonators, dump it all out of a pair of Borla's...and you tell us how this made a difference?

How awesome would it be if a vendor offered all that you mentioned as one big kit? Intake elbow, 3lb pulley, thermo, and exhaust, all wrapped up in one big go-fast package....

I recently bought a 2003 STR, and am definitely interested in the best intake you can get in black.
