Default 03 STR Bumper identification.

Hi all. I purchased a 2003 S-type R that I am attempting to sort out.
The front bumper cover has some issues, but I am having difficulty finding a bumper cover that looks like the one below.

My question is....
1.is that even an STR bumper? Anyone know the part number?
2.There is an abundance of 2000-2002 S-types around here. Can I retrofit the older style?

The bumper cover is VIN specific and changes depending on whether or not the vehicle has headlamp washers or not and parking aids or not.

From VIN N13089 to VIN N80180 WITH headlamp washers: XR849699XXX

Same VIN range without headlamp washers: XR849698XXX

WITHOUT parking aids, the respective part numbers are XR849697XXX and XR849696XXX

The S-Type R and the 'facelifted' 2002.5 S-Type have different bumper covers from the earlier cars.

Hope this helps you.

i can't help but wonder if you are refering to the missing access cover in the picture ? XR829434 ?

or the entire bumper cover ?
you would have to be rich or very keen to buy a brand new bumper cover .
they are expensive .
mine was properly smashed by a large animal at speed . and was a lot cheeper to repair than replace . about 1/16th of the new price and that included painting .

Both of these replys were helpful, thank you!
My problem was that this is a "rebuilt" car with some missing parts.
The part numbers you guys supplied put me in the right direction.
I think I will just get the bumper repaired and repainted, replace the foglights
and put in the missing access covers.

A new cover will probably need painting.

A scrap one will have OE paint and may be better.

You are making it hard on yourself.

Get the proper JTIS and JEPC these are the shop manual and the parts manual. They are both free and on this forum.

These two items will answer ALL of your questions.

JLR of Columbia S.C., USA, has great internet pricing. Look for them on ebay.
