It couldn't hurt. Is this the same connector you said was a little loose?

Yes it is, I first noticed it after the tranny was taken down to fix the oil leak and my first LIMP MODE came on.

At that time I only notice that part of the shell came off when I checked it and made sure it was all the way in. Given the cramp space I did not see that the part that clicks in was broken off.

This time I took it off and checked the connector more throughly.

So yesterday the only thing that I modified is this connector by putting on the plastic tie and electrical tape.

I did not think that was the fix since after that I still had the same condition. I guess the computer need time to think for a while....

To better fix this problem and if I can't find a replacement I may do the following:

1. Get some shrink rap tubing to fit over the broken portion of the connector.
2. Shrink the tubing on the wire side then fill it with silicon sealant.
3. Place the connector back on and make sure it's tight.
4. Put some silicon sealant on the end of it to close the connector end before shrinking that end. This will make it water tight!
5. After the sealant dries put on a plastic tie to make sure it does not move. But if needed the shrink wrap can be cut off to remove the connector.

What do you think?

For now I'll leave well enough alone and hope that I'll not see LIMP mode again!

Thanks for your input
