As per title , this developed over the last few days .. feels and sounds like the car is running on 7 cylinders , strong petrol smell on startup

Going to the Jag agents (I live in south Africa) on tuesday next week ..( the car has done 100k Kilometers and *does* need a service ).. i dont have a code reader , but there is NOTHING on the display that says anything is wrong...
Any diagnoses out there .. possible problems.. ?
Local JAG guys will skin me alive price wise...
My first thought is a faulty coil/plug.. but wouldnt that trigger an alert?

 

Use an OBD tool to look at live data.

 

I bought one , but it didnt work , bought another , same thing .. I think the only ones I can get here are the cheap chinese fakes..
Jag here charge $50 an hour for diagnosis .. so will let them do it .. as they will be fixing it (cant DIY cos of diabetes)
I'm just looking for some possibilities/probabilities , based on symptoms , of what could be wrong?

 

Virtually everyone has a fake and they work great. Check your car for why it's different - fuse / etc.

 

thanks, I think mine had issues with the usb connection .. never needed them , just bought it to try so didnt persist.. but now i need one

Picking up a bluetooth version tomorrow and the guy said he will test it and set it up on the jag for me... $20..

 

Ok, I got codes P0037 , P0057 and P1647
All seem related to an O2 sensor issue
At least I have an indication of whats wrong
