'05 STR - Blew a hose and probably my wallet.
Well I made the plunge and bought a '05 STR last week. Got about 200 miles on it and was ready for a road trip to Chicago Saturday and about two miles from home I smelled coolant. Stopped at an Autozone and saw it flowing from under the front behind the radiator. I assume (hope) its a hose. Poured a gallon of anti freeze in it and got it home six blocks away. It just got flat-bedded to my local indie who has had Jags and also maintains my Porsche 928 where he will perform the necessary rituals. What a start!
The STR has 79K on it and the water pump was replaced at a dealership about 2 years and 10k ago. I know that once you pull it apart that you may as well do them all, so is there anyone that has a list of ALL the hoses (and typical pricing) that you should need along with the part numbers? Are there any available sources with better pricing other than the local dealer? Thanks in advance for your knowledge in making this as less painful as possible!

PaulBarrrera,
I see from your relatively low post numbers that you are more than likely new to these forums. I hate to refer to the "search" function but for this issue, I have to say that is your best option to go. The under supercharger coolant hose leak is a very common problem, and rather expensive to fix in terms of labor costs (supercharger needs to be removed). I had to do the same with mine. The good news is, that is the only major expensive repair I've had.
I would suggest replacing EGR valve while you are having this work done, even if your EGR valve is in good condition for now....

I have posted this several times before but if you must pay someone to fix the car you will be pouring money into it. Yes the dealer is usually the best for repairs. The indy guys just have too much trouble trying to keep up with all the test tools and factory repair bulletins. Any expensive luxury car gets no cheaper to repair over time!
The S Type and especially the STR is a great bargain if you can do the work yourself.
If I did not have this list to search for and ask questions I would have dumped the car a long time ago and most likely would not have purchased it in the first place.
The S Type is one of those rare things that are horribly mispriced in the market. Way too high if you will pay someone to fix it and way too low if you can do the work yourself!
My 2005 STR is now at 103K miles and has almost no value at all. But it still is the best car I have ever owned. It's been my daily driver since I got it almost 6 years ago. I never had a car with this much all-around performance that was comfortable and easy to drive yet can get with it when I want it to!
As under pressure mentions I would perform all the maintenance before doing any road trips. There are some things that all the S-Types need done and they are all documented in detail on this list. The coolant hose list is one of them and several people have done a great job of it.
