OK, Folks, I concede defeat...I KNOW I used to have a gear shift indicator of some sort on the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. It's gone now, and I'll be danged if I can figure out where it's supposed to be! All other lights/displays seem to be fine.

I bet I've looked at close to 200 photos/images online of S-type dashes, and can't find one that shows a gear indicator.

I haven't gone off my meds, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction as to what the problem might be--or confirm I've simply "gone around the bend" as my wife suspects. Thanks.

 

Your wife might be right. I've certainly never seen or heard of one.

 

I don't see it mentioned in the '07 handbook, you have read that?

 

It does NOT show on my 2007 S-type.

Maybe you should go off of your meds...........................

 

Wow...this is one of those Good news/bad news things. "Good": not an expensive repair to deal with. "Bad": I hate it when my wife is SO right

Thanks for the responses. Now I need to confess, admit that she was right, and deal with the "Why didn't you just believe ME?" response that's coming.

 

Regarding your wife being correct, just develop a quick case of amnesia and completely forget about the subject. If she brings it up again, your immediate response is "What in the hell are you talking about?"
