Default 110 in a 45

Aced a CLK55 AMG convertible today.. we started from a 40 roll going down a hill (he had his top down and I had my windows down) we honked it out and ran up to 125 and I pulled a half car on him, then we looked ahead and right in front of us was the good old Florida HIghway Patrol.. We both locked up our brakes, but the AMG was down to 50 before I was down to 75 I considered taking off, but there was a light a 1/4 mile ahead and the cop was already facing the right direction to chase me.. We both got clocked at 110mph.. I love how the radar always gives them these perfect round numbers???[:@] so I did not actually get a fine, but i have a mandatory court appearance for 65+ over. A ticket for 30mph over is $350 and theres not even a catagory for 65mph over.. So I'm thinking this is going to be a $1k speeding ticket.. Bunch of crap and now I have a full day of work ahead of me too..

Brotha..you'll be lucky if it's only a $1,000 fine. I'd be consulting an attorney if I were in your situation. You'll be lucky to keep your license and insurance...best of luck!

In CT if you go 65+ it is a mandatory day in court as well. Also a ticket for $1500+. I read in the paper a while backhow a guy in a CT town was going 121 in a 55 and got his license and insurance taken away right on the spot. The cop saidthe guy was also onhis cell phone. The2 fines together were 1700 if I remember correctly.

You're well on your way to jail/high insurance/suspended license....but hey you won....tell that tp the judge, he might let you off....[:'(].

Get a freaking radar detector, that silliness could have been prevented....

Here in CA you'd be lookin' at time in the Jail, loss of license and even your lovely S-Type R impounded. BUT congratulations on beating that Jerry Panzer.

BIG +1 on the Radar Detector.

Glad to hear florida is not quite as bad as I thought... I have only had one worse that this and it was 128 in a 50, but the officers didnt show up for the court date and my attorney got it thrown out on technicalities.. I think its definitely time for a radar detector though, it would have paid for itself like 8 times by now.. Any advice on which one is best? Maybe even a link to buy one?
Thanks for the moral support guys, lol Eric

I started a but long flame response, but I really can't be bothered. If you think the only thing you need is a better radar detector, then you have other issues you need to examine. Sigh. At least no one was killed.

Hahahaha sorry tim, but down here in the south we dont have 10 second cars to sit in our garages and stare at, we have them to race... (not talking about the jag obviously)

And no racer hahaha Im no putz (maybe a little bit) haha Ive just gone through this sooo many times that its a joke now. I actually wont get a chance to make a fool out of myself in front of the judge because my company's attorney wont let me go anymore... He's already learned that no good can come from that hahahaha

Now that this topic is so controversial I guess Ill have to let you guys know what they end up charging me...
