Not easy.

First, it has to be coded to the VIN with IDS. Second, the mileage is stored in other modules. You have to REALLY know what you're doing.

And then even if you get that part right, there's still the title, previous odometer statements, history etc to deal with. Oh and the 5 year prison sentence if you get caught... not worth it for the $$ involved.

Take care,

George

When your a cash buyer an extra 7k for a weekend play car that sits most days is a lot.

I have no issues with owning a higher milage car so long as it has good records, has been keep up right and the price reflects the milage. I wrench on my own cars at my shop so not as worried about repairs.

I have owned a few benzs for work cars that I put 200k on and never had an issue is the jag somehow oddly fragile LOL.

No it's really not... But some people here seem to think it is, and for some reason LOW (sub 40k miles) cars are cherished and priced astronomically high.

The same people who have either paid, or think that their low mile cars are worth ridiculously high $$, tend to be the ones that frown upon the higher miles cars as ready for the boneyard...

I'm with you, I have a shop in the family and my daily driver S-Type has 108k on it, commutes 70 miles a day, and I wouldn't hesitate to get it in and drive it cross country.

Take care,

George

I thought the mileage was burned into the Cluster EEPROM, so flashing it to my correct mileage wouldnt be an issue.

In TX I would have to do a mileage disclaimer if I were to sell it.
And Im not tampering with the milage, so not sure that would be an issue.

I need to get my hands on a 05+ cluster and IDS. lol Im willing to try it. Just not sure if the clusters speak the same language.
