Default 2000 to 2002 S-type Fuel system (not R type))

I have been trying to figure out in detail/specifically how the fuel delivery system and "saddle" style gas tank keeps the fuel equal in each side of the gas tank.

Does anyone out there know how this system really works?

The driver's side module has a couple of loops and an interesting configuration, that doesn't seem like it would work all that well. The fuel from the pump goes to an upside down "F" where the first branch goes to the engine, and the other branch goes to a gas tank fuel pick-up and then on the a recirculation line that routes to the pump canister in the other tank. (Passanger side) It seems like the pressure side of the line would push gas out of the fuel pick-up rather than suck gas into the line going to the pump cannister.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me on how it works?

My motivation behind this to to figure out what I have to do to install a Walbro GSS340 fuel pump with a 3/8" (AN-6) gas line to fuel the LS3 engine I am going to install in the car.

Joe I emailed you in more detail, but I don't think that "upside down F" is open tubing. I think it's just made to look that way externally, as the two pieces are assembled together. It even looks like two pieces.

The bottom line (with fuel intake), is an input to the pump which pulls fuel from the tank to the pump.

The top (shorter branch) line is the pressurized output to the motor.

Just my .02 of a dollar.
