2000 Jag stock stereo removed & Updated to a Double Din Navi/DVD/CD/MP3 etc..

I'm trying to install a aftermarket stereo on my 2000 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 V8. I've got the head unit, the harness is coming on it's way. But I can't find the mounting kit anywhere. So I was wondering, since you guys have done this before, can I install the unit without buying/customizing a mounting kit for this installation? Please reply me ASAP, Thank You.
When I took apart the factory unit, there's 5 harness in total, two long ones, one medium and two small. I figure the two long ones are for the audios, but if you guys know what the other harnesses are for, it'll help a lot.

This is all of the info I have for you. This was a real PITA because there is NO dash kit for the 2000 S-Type.
Good Luck to you!

Forgot to answer your other questions: If you don't use a dash kit it will look really bad, Like the first pictures on this thread, notice all of the gaps around the unit? It just looks sloppy. But go ahead if you don't mind that appearance, I had mine that way for a few days before I finished the install and I couldn't stand it.
The harness, honestly I cant remember (been 2 years) I know one of the plugs is for the CD changer, another for the steering wheel controls, another for the stock amp I think. Just wait until you get everything and you will figure it out. Happy Installing
