I agree! A shop that would tell you that is not worthy of your trust or money. You would think they were looking out for your best interest but if the tensioners fail you stand to lose the entire engine or dam close to it. Find another shop with a good reputation.

A well run independent shop would be the best bet but as you mentioned. This is an expensive and somewhat complicated repair. Make double sure you catch it in time if you plan to keep the car.

JagV8 my vin(which is displayed on windscreen) starts with SAJAD**$**&&*****
So i am guessing this is another mystery.

The number that JagV8 gave will be the last 6 of your VIN, he was saying that the sequence starts with M45255.

Yes, the last 6. The first ones describe the maker etc and are in a standardised format.

Ok was getting worried so mine ends with M62179.

Fairly early on in the redesigned cars. Revised suspension, more & different computers and networks. (Eek.) And so on.

I am guessing thats a bad thing.........talking of suspension they cant figure out which suspension my car has as the catalogue shows totally different control arms and stabilisers.My Luck, i pick a car that is totally unknown to this world :-(

Shouldn't be bad. Maybe download the JEPC (parts cat) and look 'em up yourself. No mystery & should not be problematic. Sounds like whoever struggled was a bit clueless...
