2000 rad fan question
In the 10+ years that I have owned this car I have never noticed the radiator fan running even when it overheated.
I thought I would check the fuse and my manual states the cooling fan is fuse 25 in the engine fuse box BUT there is no fuse slot 25 !!
Am I reading this right. Does the cooling fan have a fuse and if so where?
thanks for any enlightenment

Everything you ever wanted to know about the radiator fan, including the fuse location:

The fan is fairly quiet under most circumstances. The only time you can hear it from the cabin is when it’s running at top speed, such as in response to overheating.
When the fan failed on my ‘02 V6, it was very apparent. The engine temperature rose well above normal below 30 MPH or so, due to inadequate airflow through the radiator. Above 30, all was good thanks to ram airflow. I had to take the long way home to avoid traffic, just to keep the speed up and temperature down.
Unless you’re also experiencing the same symptoms, I bet your fan is working properly but being quiet in the process.

Wow thanks for the quick reply. Also the extremely informative link regarding the repair processes.
I think I will pass on that for now as I am not overheating, yet.
having just replaced my DCCV the more pressing issue is the air con not working and it’s hot outside these days. Once again thanks for your input and I will check that fuse just in case.
