2000 S-type 4.0 blows hot air all the time.
Hey Guys and Gals.
I have been fighting an issue with my Grandmas S-type now for about a week. It came in not blowing hot or cold air just ambient temp from all the vents. I pulled and tested the DCCV and found it to be bad and replaced it with a new Bosch unit. Now I have Sahara Desert wind coming through the vents but no cold air. I have also checked the pressures of the A/c system and can hear the Clutch engage when the A/C is switched on.
I have been running around in circles trying to repair this issue. I have done a search and read through as many different threads as I can, I have also followed the diagnosis procedure outlined by jagclimatecontrol.com (DIY: Diagnose It Yourself - JaguarClimateControl.com), as well as found the Jaguar TSB JTB00103.
Following the JCC method I tested the 3 Evap core sensors for resistance and came up with these numbers:
Driver 1: 25.1K ohm
Driver 2: 20.8K ohm
Pass : 24.8K ohm
I also backprobed some wires on connector FC5. The brown/green wire (NG; FC5-11) and the brown/blue wire (NU;FC5-12). These are the values I got with KOER and A/C set to LO:
FC5-11: 110.4mA, .27v
Driver vent temp: 87.0*F
Center Vent temp: 87.5*F
Pass Vent Temp: 81.0*F
FC5-12: 115.2mA, .27v
Driver Vent Temp: 87.1*F
Center Vent Temp: 87.5*F
Pass Vent Temp: 82.0*F
With the DATC turned up to HI both wires show 13.3v with KOER and I get drastically higher temps upwards of 130*F out of the Driver and Center vent but I saw only ~95* from the Pass vent.
I initially thought that the mode doors were to blame but after som testing I noticed I could hear them moving but that's not to say that they aren't getting full travel. So I have come to you all hoping for a new direction so I can fix this damn thing its starting to get real hot here and I want to make sure my Grandma has some cold air in her car.
