2001 jaguar s-type engine swap

I was wondering if it were possible to put a "1993 2jzgte supra sc300 240sx manual" would fit into a 2001 jaguar s-type 4.0? Would i need to switch over to a manual transmission or would my automated manual still work? I have read that a manual engine would still work with an automatic transmission.

What seems to be the matter with the engine that is in the car? These cars cannot be easily be 'lumped' with other drive trains from other cars, Japanese included.
Perform a search on the topic to see other experiences.
If you happen to be looking for more performance, purchase an S-Type R with the supercharged AJ-V8 engine and save yourself the frustration and expense of such a project.

You could mate pretty much most transmissions with most motors. The obvious things you'll have to concentrate on is the bellhousing which needs to be built to accept the motor, custom driveshaft due to the incorrect length of the vehicle, and other electricals like speed sensors and etc if its directly on the transmission itself.
On top of that, you'll have to make sure the rear diff will accept the transmission and/or use a completely different driveshaft that will made properly on both ends. Most will go with a complete drivetrain/differential swap to make things "easier."
on TOP of the top of on top of that, you'll have to concentrate on mounting both your rear diff and transmissions with custom brackets, supports, and REINFORCEMENTS needed to make everything fit with ease.
As the previous poster said, it is an extremely difficult, time consuming, intricate, and costly job.
You're better off with getting a S-Type R to get your speed fix.

The AJ33S will physically fit into the engine bay, but all of the electronics are different as is the gearbox. The 4.0 litre AJ28 was fitted with the Ford 5R55N gearbox while the later 4.2 litre AJ33 and AJ33S were fitted with the ZF 6HP26 gearbox, which is very different. There are numerous other differences as well.
As stated previously, it is easier and less expensive to simply find an S-Type R.

I play the harmonica. The only way I can play is if I get my car going really fast, and stick it out the window. I've been arrested three times for practicing.
I put a new engine in my car, but didn't take the old one out. Now my car goes 500 miles per hour. The harmonica sounds *amazing*.
