I have a 2001 Jaguar S type 3.0 V6 I am looking to upgrade the audio system my guess it is the standard system... It sounds like garbage I'm wondering if just replacing the head unit will have a positive effect on the situation as that has helped me in the past with other vehicles also wondering what the specs are on the system I would like to put in a DVD screen head unit and I am not opposed to replacing the speakers, amp, and/or sub although I guess I really don't know what the car has any help would be appreciated also I'm wondering if anybody has pictures of stock wheels that they have painted I was thinking about painting my wheels gloss black but since I have a silver model I think that gunmetal would be more fitting in the 5 spoke mags... I am very excited about the purchase I just bought the car for $2000 and it has 65,000 original miles with one owner who is now a 70-year-old woman... I highly doubt that the speakers and components are blown but I'm pretty sure that the head unit for this year make and model lies below the cars potential ... Thanks guys!!!!

Next you will want to update your signature by going to the upper left corner on any site page, click "UserCP", scroll down to "Edit Signature", fill in model year, engine, any other information you would like us to know to help us help you!

I hate to say because it has been written about in great depth here but do a search and you will find boat loads of information both here in the S Type sub-directory but also in the "Audio" sub-directory as well.

IMO, don't spend a ton of money upgrading your audio system because unless you are a DIYer, your going to need that money to keep your new to you S Type on the road!

I appreciate your insight I introduced myself and also changed my signature… Enthusiast and although you are advising me to save my money to work on the car I do all my work myself and also have shop prices on parts so that won't be an issue just looking to make my ride look and be overall as delicious as possible ��

Only thing I see in your signature is Smileys (three yellow guys turning the steering wheel). I am not seeing any car info e.g. MY & engine size. Having that information in your signature is critical to getting specific answers to your questions on this forum.
