2001 S Type bulb failures - no dash message

If you lost power to either of these modules, you'd have a lot more problems than just some bulb failures not being displayed. Is that the only issue your car currently has?
If the bulb failures were only in the rear, I'd suggest looking for water in the trunk, in the spare tire well. Rainwater collected there could cause problems with the RECM.

Thanks for the info. I've lost a rear bulb and a low beam headlight with no notifications. The only other issue I have with the car is the reverse distance sensor circuit. The light on the roof console is permanently red and the sensors don't come on. I've checked all the fuses in the passenger compartment and they're all good, none out.
As far as the rear bulb goes, there's no sign of water ingress, it's all dry as a bone back there

Which bulbs? As far as I know, there is no dedicated bulb failure warning circuit. The front bulbs are monitored via the General Electronic Control Module (GECM). The rear bulbs are monitored via the Rear Electronic Control Module (RECM).

Have you tried removing a bulb completely and seeing if that generates a message? Strictly a guess, but I think the bulb monitor function simply checks continuity and/or amp draw for each bulb. Maybe a bulb has failed in such a way that it's not fully open, but still won't light up properly.

S-type General Electronic Control Module
My 2000 S-type 4.0 has no low beam headlights. All other lights work.
I did the easiest first, Checked the fuses and they are OK.
I replaced the headlight switch but that did not fix the problem.
I am now suspicious of the General Electronic Control Module. (Sometimes called the Front Electronic Control Module).
This is a programmable part. If I replace this part, will it need to be programmed? How can programming be accomplished?
Thanks for any advise!

+1 on that.
From the potentially ridiculous question department:
1) Have you checked for voltage at the bulb connectors?
Wiring diagrams here, scroll down to section 8.1:

Jaguar uses a control system different than most brands. With the ignition on, power is always available at the bulb sockets. On/off of the lights is controlled by a switched ground from the control module.
2) Have you tried new bulbs yet? You didn't mention that, so I have to ask. If you're thinking why are they both suddenly not working, it could be one was burned out for some time but you never realized this. It wasn't until the second bulb burned out that you realized something was wrong, and it would be easy to think there must be something in common.
