2001 s-type engine amiss?

Can I use a high temp tape (Tommy tape that fuses to itself) to seal this or replace it altogether? It looks too short to properly cover that opening. BTW, that rubber feels too soft to touch, not firm at all. Thanks, folks

I wouldn’t. How would you unplug it next time you need to remove the manifold to change the spark plugs?
