Take Norri's advice and look at the XK8 section of this forum. Reverend Sam has posted a video on how to do this. I recovered both A-pillars on my wife's recently-acquired XK8 a little more than a month ago. I followed Sam's video and the project turned out perfectly. Be aware that if you attempt to use your original fabric, you will be sorely disappointed. The foam backing breaks down so you'll need to find matching headliner material. An auto shop that specializes in convertible tops and headliners is your best bet for the closest fabric match. One-half yard of headliner fabric will be plenty for both A-pillars. Cost is typically around ten to twelve bucks. You'll also need a can of 3M spray adhesive. Again, watch Sam's video and you'll learn what to do and what supplies you'll need....

When I bought my S Type the A pillar fabric was all loose as well. I went a little bit farther and put thin glove leather on the pillars that matched the dash in black. Made it look amazing. The thin leather was about 40 dollars for enough to cover both pillars but they should last forever. I bought the leather pieces from a marina/seat cover shop here in town.

Thanks for the pictures. By the way, on that first pic, I like the space you have to work on the vehicles.

So I started this task. I got the A pillar off without much difficulity. I bought the headliner material at Hancock's fabrics and it's almost a perfect match. I also found the 3m spray glue there as well. The problem I have now is how to get the old foam off the A pillar cover. The liner had separated from the foam backing but the foam is still stuck down very secure. Does anyone have any suggestions here? Thanks.
