Default 2002 S Type 2.5 Auto Alarm issue

Hey folks. I have had it a day and think I have broken it already. The keyfob now no longer opens or locks the doors. When I open it with the key and open the passenger door the alarm goes off and doesn't shut up till I put the key in the ignition. I am assuming the alarm is not disarming. Any idea's what I can check. The fob seems to be ok as it still opens the boot once it is unlocked. Can't believe I have managed to break it already. Gutted.

I now know why it is not working. Just took my key to bits. The surface switches are broken basically. Just tried some PCB cleaner to try and free it up. Not working. Anyone know where I can get a perhaps another broken keyfob to get 2 pressure switches to fix this? Don't want to go down the route of paying for a new one if that is all it is unless I absolutely have to.

Ohhh and I only have the 1 key for the moment. The guy that I bought it off of is away to spain and has taken the second key with him. He is going to post it when he unpacks in spain. But that may be a while and I would like to have 2 working keys. Don't like things that are not right.

I guess a well-known auction site. You don't actually need the fob part's buttons to work as you can get by with the key.

Just an update for you guys. I have now solved the problem with the alarm. When I looked at the switches 2 of them were ceased. So just swapped them over for the 2 that weren't. Hey presto. The car unlocks remotely and locks remotely. And now when I unlock the car and open the passenger door the alarm no longer goes off. Wooohooo. I suppose this can go down as a possible issue if anyone comes across this again.
