My 2002 s-type has been in storage since October 2013. I pulled the battery out and put it on a trickle charge. When I put it back in it won't start. It cranks like crazy but won't start and DSC fault code shows on message center. I have checked all the fuses and they were fine. I'm at a lose on how to procede and would be thankful for any help or suggestions. Thank again for the help.

Well, I or should I say my brother found the problem. I must have missed the fuel pump fuse when I was checking them. Car started but still has DSC fault code,Abs code, brake light, traction control light and battery light. Thank you for your help. It's good to know there is somebody willing to help.

I would have the battery and alternator checked. The battery light being on is telling you the system voltage is not high enough either due to a bad battery or the alternator not putting out enough volts. Since the car has been sitting, I would be betting on needing a battery; and replacing it also gives you a good chance of the other lights going off as well.

Thanks for the advice. Just checked the alternator it is sending 14.25 volts to the battery. Under a load test the battery dropped to 11.5 volts and held there. When I checked the water it was very low.I filled it and charged it.It does have a dead cell.

Then it's time for a new battery. These cars draw massive amounts of power and when the existing battery is no longer up to the job, all sorts of spurious warnings start being thrown such as the ones you are seeing. Replace the battery and if you're lucky, that may turn out to be all you need to do. Pep Boys sells the appropriate Bosch vented battery for about $100. Go to their website before you drive to their store - they usually have a battery coupon that you can print and take with you that may save you $20 or more....

Yep, time for a new battery. I had a battery holding a charge at 12.48 V and caused all sorts of issues. New battery resolved all phantom faults...
