I wish........
My special request is that I would like to see you move closer to me than the 4000km's separating us at present!!!! I shudder to think what our local dealer would charge for all this, I am thinking $3k + seeing as though they quoted $1200 just for the oil pan gasket........

I think the member who is having his car worked on lives in the Raleigh area. And I thought I read where he is going to stay in Charlotte while Rick was working on his car. In the info box it states his location as Sunny South Carolina.
But I probably got it mixed up, it wouldn't be th first time.

Under MISC add throttle body cleaner for cleaning out the throttle body.
May have to have a separate cleaner for the MAF sensor, maybe BRUTAL can confirm.
Other than that it looks good.

Hey Nick, I am just north of Rock Hill, I am in Fort Mill. I am so close to Carowinds, if the wind blows south, we can hear the screams from the people on the roller coasters!
Thanks for the luck wishes, No luck invovled
Joel and his '03 that I am working on is in Raleigh.

Ok fellas', we are on for friday! Man there are a poop load of parts in the man cave! Joel will be here around 5'ish, I plan to start immediately.
My plan of attack:
1) Remove wiper cowl to get to the intake. remove intake set aside.
2) Get under vehicle, move everything aside to get the oil pan off, lift motor, replace oil pan gasket, button everything up underneath.
3) Return to upper motor, sparkies, COPs, vacuum lines and elbows, IMT's, reinstall intake
4) Tackle transmission sleeve. When picking up the transmission extension housing seal (output shaft seal) and retaining nut, I had asked Wayne at Scott Jaguar if he has sold many of these, his response "In all the years I have been here....never". So we shall see if it indeed needs replaced.
So again the fun starts around 5:00, if you want to skype, PM me for my name, I will have a group set up for up to 9 people (max allowed on free skype) should be fun! I will have my puter on throughout the whole process, friday night and into saturday. TUNE IN!!!

I did not replace the coils, Joel was sent the incorrect ones, and did NOT want to purchase the $50.00 ea. Auto Zoners. In addition to the parts in post #1, I had to add valve cover gaskets and a serpentine belt.
By this morning I had no remaining fault codes and the restricted performance was gone. I ran the vehicle up to the Shell station and put in a full tank of premium $47.00, (Joel uses regular) drove a short distance and popped codes 0171 and 0174, o2 sensors. I called all the local parts stores and no one had them in stock, bummer.
So next week we will tackle the o2's, tranny, and also the vehicle is dire need of brakes and rotors!
