Default 2003 Front Brembo Calipers

Hey guys,

Im having a little trouble figuring out if the front Brembo Calipers can be rebuilt. I am in the process of getting parts together in order to upgrade my front brakes.
My issue is that I cannot seem to find any vendor that will give me a straight answer to the following:

1. Is there a rebuild kit (pistons, seals, dust boots) for the Brembo calipers?

2. Are the remanufactured calipers available via rockauto, centric etc.. the excact same as OEMs? That is, if I order a remanufactured caliper, will it be identical to the Brembo calipers?

The reason I ask this is because one of the calipers I sourced from a fellow forum member needs to be rebuilt. The other is brand new.

I tried calling many different places and since none of them have online pictures available, they could not tell me what the replacements look like.

Thanks,
Gabriel

Below is a photo of the calipers:

Have you tried here Replacement Rotors, Pads, Hardware although they recon that in street use the seals should last for life

I did. They couldn't help. Couldn't even get the bolts from them

I was saving this option for last.
I contacted them. Unfortunately I have to extract each piston and provide measurements.
I am reluctant to do this on my own.

The bolts are cheap from a dealer - though the bolts are arguably not part of the Brembo chunk.

The dealer also sells the pins and the like. I never asked about seals as mine are OK.

I have a recollection of a parts list on Brembo's site so I suspect they do sell parts whether their staff know it or not. Don't know if they sell to the non-trade.

Is there any reason you are not using the Jaguar parts?

They shown a "Piston Service Kit" Which sounds like what you need. Try part #C2C24011 for the 2003-2005 STR front with Brembos.

I like Dan at Nalley Jaguar. Very helpful to forum members!

Just talked to nalley, very nice people.
The part number referenced is actually the dust boots and seals only.

Good to know. Thanks. Maybe you can find just the piston somewhere and then have a full rebuild kit?

Does the piston need to be replaced? Is it scored? I have seen some corroded ones too.

Brembo calipers used on r types are the same used on AMG, they are prone to failure on intensive use due to the aluminum pistons.
On race cars is standard to change them with iron ones
All the parts you need, except iron pistons that have to be custom built are Brembo.
You can buy them from Brembo dealer without any problem

Just an update:
I found a vendor that offers a rebuild service. I plan to send one of the calipers to be rebuilt. Looking to do this within the next couple of months.
