Hey everyone, new to the site here. Looking for some info on some DIY repair for a few codes that are coming up on my Jag. It is a 2003 Jaguar S-Type, 4.2L, not supercharged. Trying to get it to pass emissions tests here in TN. It is currently throwing out:

P0105
P0405

From what I can tell it looks like maybe the MAP Sensor needs replaced. Is this pretty easy to fix? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

Tide311: I suggest you search this forum by the code #'s for more info on these subjects. Below are what the book says about these codes and possible fixes. FYI: There is supposedly a good Jag/import shop on 4th Ave South close to the old City Cemetary--where it's one way going south. There is another very good Jag shop across Murfreesboro Road from Vultee Church of Christ--but he doesn't work on modern electronics. Good luck!

EGR valve drive circuits low voltage

EGR valve power supply circuit open circuit
EGR valve to ECM drive circuit pair
(EGR valve pins 1/4, 6/3):
open circuit, high resistance

EGR valve failure (stepper motor open circuit)

P0105 EMS
OBD II

MAP Sensor circuit malfunction

Intake manifold air leak (loose or missing
component)
MAP Sensor to ECM circuit(s) fault
MAP Sensor failure
Throttle adaption fault (check throttle position

voltage at Ignition ON)
