Default 2003 Jaguar S type R Spun Rod Bearing

I have a 2003 Jaguar S type R that has recently just spun a rod bearing. Any idea what this would be worth or what I could get for it as is? It has 104k miles but I am the 3rd owner and it has a clean carfax. Other than the engine, it is in good condition and clean...

You can procure a salvaged motor with warranty for a reasonable sum. Or sell the spun bearing cat for $3900.

Just curious, did you have any mods? Was it driven pretty hard?

No it was completely stock and was my DD. I would not consider it to be driven hard...Has anyone seen any of these like this sale and if so, for how much?

Nope OIL was full and recently changed. It was a cold morning and it happened when within the first 5 minutes of driving. The only thing I can think of is I didnt let it warm up enough as I was in a hurry

Well I know it does not help but that is very unusual. Are going to replace completely or take the old engine apart to repair?

Hang on, did you spin a rod bearing, or a main bearing? Is the crank damaged, or is the rod trashed? Either way, you won't know until it's pulled apart.

There is a STR parts car on EBay right now. Good Engine with 84K miles. Might be a solution??

I just got done going down that road for the tune of almost $20K for a new motor.
Then again NOTHING was salvageable on my motor including the radiators and coolers.

this is kind of disconcerning; how many people have blown their motors and do we have any info on each of their reasons why it happened?
