I agree. My labor is as cheap as it comes. Once I get these regulators replaced, all I have left is the overflow tank and baby is back in top condition. I love having an 11 year old car that people gawk at.

Default Success!

Huzzah! Driver's side regulator is replaced. No problems whatsoever. The regulator for the Lincoln LS worked perfect for my 01. Even the connector was the same, so no motor swap for me. The only difference is the absence of a mounting stud next to the motor. Mine had a bolt in that position which didn't line up with the hole. I used a smaller bolt and nut through the existing holes.

Did the passenger side even faster. That part had a stud, so I had to enlarge the hole a bit. Again, the connector was the same.

I think the issue is that the part number I was told to buy will bolt up directly on the 2000 to 2002 Jaguar S-Type but the 2003 Jag is different and you have to jerri-rig it so it will work. If I can get the Jag electric motor attached to the Lincoln LS channels and then clock it so the window will go up and down all will be golden. If not then I'll have to return another part and start over again.

Glad yours was a direct plug in. That would have been EZ!!

Even though both my new regulators came from the same source, many of the bits were quite different. In fact, I felt that the passenger side seemed like it had a much stronger motor and ran smoother than the driver side. The driver side seemed a little noisy and weak, but has improved with several cycles of the window. I'm still hanging on to the old parts in case of a failure. Of course, my original parts were just fine aside from the plastic guides falling to pieces. I can't complain considering the car is now 11 years old.

On another note, the insides of the doors looked great. Just some residue from evaporated water. No corrosion or damage.

Door panel was simple.

Here you can see some of the differences in the parts.
