2003 S Type Won't Start!!!
Hi all-
Brand new here, so hope ANYONE can assist!
SO, I wake up yesterday, get into my 2003 S Type V8 and when I put the key in and turn it over, all I hear is: "Click click click click."
I turn the key back, then all the sudden the horn starts going off.
The brake pedal is depressed, so I am thinking it is in some kind of a security mode.
Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, suggestions.
BTW, the battery seems charged. All the elctronics work (radio, lights, windows, etc.).
HELP!!!!!!!
Thanks you,
Ryan

Please open the trunk and check that the spare tire well has no water in it. Then check the condition of your battery terminals.
Then (This is the most important part) find the date on your battery. Since they started placing the battery in the trunk they last a very long time. Several people have been running around with 7-10 year old batteries!!
My 2005 STR is still on the factory battery but I am very suspicious of any electrical glitch as I have never had a battery last that long!
I finally changed my wife’s 2003 Lincoln LS battery after 7 years because I could not believe it was still working!
It's kind of like changing oil. We just don't have to do it as often as we did years ago! We forget about it.
