Default 2003 STR IAT2 sensor help

Been looking on the forums for a solution to my p0097 sensor 2 circuit low input issue along with P0443 purge valve
not sure if they could be a related problem or not since both of my banks are running lean at the moment.
p0174
P0171
positive feedback ONLY please.

Might I add that I’m hearing a light rattling under heavy acceleration. restricted performance light goes on and off & even when it’s off it seems like it’s missing about 100 hp

How many kilometres/miles are on the vehicle?

Is the MIL flashing during acceleration?

Have you also inspected for vacuum leaks?

What are LTFTs and STFTs?

130k miles
no flashing lights
No known air leaks at all,Just did smoke test.
Now when I did the pressure test with it turned to on position it went to 40 then dropped to 35
With the engine running it held at about 45-50

Correct fuel pressure is around 3 bar (300 kPa) at idle and around 5 bar (500 kPa) at WOT.

Has the inlet air temperature sensor been replaced?

You mean the one on the cleaner box? That was has been replaced. Isn’t there a second one somewhere since it’s the s/c version?

That leaves a question - what are the LTFTs & STFTs?

STFT is 3.1%

LTFT is 19.5% for both banks

Look for vacuum leaks, notwithstanding you already had a smoke test performed.

Check wiring loom and connections to fuel injectors

Check connection to MAP sensor.

Follow the advice in the many many threads about fuel trims and air leaks as you have not done so yet (e.g. what are the other figures?).

For the smoke check, did the test include the duct immediately downstream of the air filter? This poor piece typically gets removed to connect the smoke machine, and thus overlooked as a possible source of the vacuum leak.

Not your exact model, but two forum members had the identical root cause while chasing similar codes and high LTFT values.
