Default 2003 STR Shifts into Reverse Slowly

Hello, I searched and found info about the older model S Type's with the Ford transmission having this problem, but had no luck with finding posts about the ZF gearbox shifting slowly into Reverse.

Can I use the same procedure to fix this? It takes a few seconds to go from Drive/Park to reverse. Or is there something else wrong possibly?

Thanks!

It's so different I think I'd ignore the Ford box. I'd start by checking the 2 bolts are not loose or missing that hold the shift cable to the trans side.

After that it's the fluid level / replace fluid.

Have you checked the fluid level? It's not real easy.

Start there first as JagV8 said.
