Default 2003 STR Supercharger Removal

So with no service manuals available (to my knowledge) and hardly anybody that does any work on their own, I've been figuring this out on my own.

I've got it almost finished, removed the front two bolts to get the blower off the intake manifold, pulled the throttle body, but I can NOT see any place (tight fit back there, can't see anything really) whtere the rear of the blower is bolted down.

Also it looks like I can leave the intercooler tanks on since the bolts look to be not accessible with the blower in place.

Right under the intake elbow is the 3rd bolt that holds down the SC. So the intake has to be taken off. If you have an EGR, then first you have to take of that one, that will allow you to gain access to different bolts again to take out the intake elbow. Once both are off you can remove the 3rd bolt of the SC.

Good luck,
Andre.

Thanks, I figured that was the case but wanted to be sure before I pulled out another 100 bolts!

mplex2000 - there are service manuals: both JTIS and newer (probably) on GTR (aka jaguartechinfo). Surely worth the small cost of both.

mplex, in addition to jagv8s list, I recommend www.alldatadiy.com
I believe its $27.00 for a 1 year subscribtion. I have heard that the JTIS is hard to navigate through and the jaguartechinfo is very expensive. Alldata is more for smaller shops and guys that like to work in their garage.
good luck

GTR is reasonable for a very short membership (one day!!) so you need to be focussed!

LOL jagv8, that I am NOT!

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Last one. How many bolts attach the plenum to the blower? I pulled two but it feels like there is another on the lower pass side, and I am assuming there is one below the gigantic "thing" that is plugged into the plenum on the driver side...

Wow... talk about a pain. Got the two bottom plenum bolts, popped it off, moved about 1/4 inch. I absolutely cannot get to the egr valve's back bolt, there is a harness blocking access that I can't get to budge.

Seems like there must be a bracket back there attached to the tb manifold but I can't see squat!

Sorry it has been some time ago that I did it, I can vaguely remember that I took out the right air cabin filter box or something, so you could get to it from that side, but I am not sure anymore.

What I do remember was that I almost quit the works, and when I did manage that I would not want to touch one again. Patience/Perseverance (and a JTIS/GTS) will help.

You can only get to the bracket if you remove the EGR I am afraid.
