2003 stype R stereo help
Hey I am interested in buying a 2003 STR with no navigation touch screen. I am missing out on the touchscreen but looking forward to buying my custom stereo headunit; however theres oneproblem. How am I going to find something to fit? The unit is very interesting shaped and have been wondering how I am going to find a fit for that. Does anyone have any advice or solutions?

You can get DVD upgrades for the STR factory NAV at Navtaq for a couple of hundred bucks. If ya want in dash NAV buy an STR that has it...

Well I am getting a great deal on the car thats why I want to go for it without the navigation. Is there any way to install the nav screen into the jaguar with no nav screen? How would I get ahold of a 6" jaguar touch nav screen and how much would they cost? I really just want to purchase an alpine touchscreen myself and install it but im starting to think it won't work. How can I fit something in there?

I would have a discussion with a pro installer at one of the stereo stores in your area. They will advise you on what harnesses you need and which units will fit, as well as well they will compliment the interior.
You may also want to consider replacing the subs/amp while you're doing or having the word done...they distort at much lower volume levels than they should. Disappointing because I have always liked Alpine's products in the past. I guess stick with Alpine head unit, but use better brands for amp/speakers.
Let us know what you decide!

as far as values go the s type r is an example of a huge value difference overall in cars that have the navigation vs ones that dont, in fact its an example of a car that can be worth more then the original option itself depending on it having the unit or not
Crutchfield, the audio retailer, i know makes worksheets for cars for the DIY people so check with them on if they have one

I've seen the above listed dash kit. I have not seen a wiring harness however. Aftermarket nav is something I have been considering myself. I like the Kenwood units since they sporta Garmin nav system. Let us all know how you make out. BTW The listing above is just for reference. I don't know anything about the store. But any installer that deals with the brand should be able to find it for you.
