Default 2003 Type-R Tuning

Hello to all,
I'm a new member and was totally impressed by the feedback from Brutal and Real_Tech to billings concerning the headlight fix. Mine just broke and the dealer wanted $1,650 to replace one headlight assembly. I had thought of a screw to hold up the headlight but never thought it was a legitimate idea. You guys Rock !!!
On a different note, does anyone have a clue about getting my 2003 tuned on a dyno ? I recently installed an air intake from Mina in Burbank and the computer is pissing out lean codes on both banks (P1410). Dealer recommended I re-install the original intake but I know there's a better solution than that.

Your dealer was right.

Your are better off with the stock box with a stock filter. A K&N filter is available for the stock box. Don't over oil the K&N and keep it clean. You can also remove the electronic flap inside the box.

This advice is worth exactly what ya paid for it...

Get your money back from Mina, the altered airflow will give different readings on the original MAF. Now if they would have included a MAF sensor tuned for the setup it would be something else.

Best option is to use the k&n panel filter in the stock (true cold Air) box, do you engine an favor!

The P1410 indicates that the solenoid to operate the flap in the original airbox is not connected/malfunctioning...

funzone, ditto to: Back on with the stock airbox w/K&N a/f. From there sift through the threads, this will get the appropriate mods leading to a dyno-tune.

Then exhaust and pulley and that is about the extent of tuning for these cars.

For the record, the mafioso intake so far has only been one time limited production run therefore may be hard to come by until if and when there's a second run...Read some of my posts about pulleys before you buy one...
