Default 2003 v6 not able to pull fuel trims

Recently the car has been hesitating on acceleration. Hook up my car soft Obd and fuel trims were showing high long term and zeroes on short now zeroes across the board.

Check OBD status - it's probably not running CL (closed loop).

If OL (open loop) it doesn't know trims but is trying to get values right. Will actually run rich because it dare not run lean (destroys engines).

Also check status of each OBD monitor and for (actual & pending) codes as you could do with data to help you.

Looks like it was the mass air flow sensor as I suspected. Now hopefully this weekend I can change the rear struts out on the v8.

Glad to hear you got things sorted out. To help the next guy, can you please elaborate what led you to suspect the MAF sensor?

The one giveaway was when my son was helping me put new power steering fluid some spilled over the maf sensor. The car soon started accelerating very slow. The new maf.sensor helped the car run normally again but the trims still cannot be read. Still work to do after all. Noticing the voltage is in the 12.7 range also.
