2004 Jaguar STR HELP
So I recently bought a 2004 jaguar s type r, it has 113k miles, it starts right up and drives good, but yesterday while driving it I was pulling out of my drive way and pressed the gas it was going good until I stopped at a stop sign on a small hill and when I went for the gas it did nothing, the motor didn't rev either but I completely let go of the gas then tried again and it worked just fine but it happened twice and I havent driven it since, the previous owner did mention it needed some abs sensors and im not sure if its actually the sensors and he also said it needs an ac relay switch which I cannot find as hard as ive been looking, I do have two abs sensors but I want to see if anyone has had the same problems and what they did to fix it. Thanks.

I would suggest you get the car scanned with a professional grade scanner which reads Jaguar proprietary DTCs, Your car has a "drive by wire" system where the throttle is controlled by the car's electronics, thus the ECU and/or control modules need to be queried to get to the bottom of your problem.

You have not indicated your location in your post. Your introduction post in the New Members forum indicates Texas. Basic OBD readers are available for use at most major parts houses (Autozone, Kragen, etc.)
More sophisticated units that read Jaguar proprietary codes are used in repair shops, or purchased outright by owners. The elm unit mentioned above is not too expensive to purchase. I have the iCarsoft LR-II, which runs around $150 on eBay, last time I looked. The iCarsoft i930 is a bit less expensive and is used by a number of forum contributors and will reaf almost all Jaguar DTCs.

If you get a throttle body code back I would start by looking at the harness connection. For my 2003 STR the plastic cowl at the base of the windscreen does not seal perfectly. Consequently with it rains heavy the throttle body connection can accumulate water. The symptoms are exactly as you describe in your initial post.
