Default 2004 S-type 3.0, switching from cassette radio to navigation

hello. this is my first post on this forum after reading along with some threads! i hope someone knows how i can fix my problem.

when i bought the car a radio with cassette was fitted. recently i got myself a 2004-2008 radio with navigation. however, the ISO cables don't match. the newer radio has a single ISO cable going from the lower half of the radio / navigation system. the old one has 2 ISO cables running from the back.

is there a way to fix this by for example using a converter?

thanks for the help.

When you've posted an Introduction and are allowed to, grab the free Electrical Guide and/or JTIS as they show all the details. There are also detailed posts here and on the net about retro-fitting which is in effect what you'd be doing. See the X-Type ones as well as they even show wire colours. Note: it's not just plug and play but it is possible.

Before you go to a lot of trouble and expense, let me ask you - have you used the factory sat-nav? Many of us who have it can tell you it is a quirky and outdated system.

thanks for the quick answers! hmm yes that was what i was afraid of… will check the schematics then.

yes i've used the system before, it's maybe not the best but it's better than a cassette desk, and i'd like to keep things as 'original' as possible..
