My 04 Stype leaking oil on or from oil filter. I know TSB S30308 exists for earlier models leaking due oil filter loosening, but I can not unzip the file to read what the fix was. Can anyone tell me more about that or if that may be same problem plaguing me now? Is the car sensitive to filter brands? Currently have a Fram on, but same wet filter seen with Shell and motor raft filters used. Thanks.

 

Proper filters don't leak. Replace with OE filter, problem fixed.

 

TSB S30308 is for S-type MY 2000 for leaking oil filters - boils down to tightening the oil filter some more.

supplied) introduced to tighten the oil filter to a specific torque of 18 Nm.


On a customer complaint basis only, follow the workshop procedure below.

 

Make sure the rubber sealing gasket from the previous oil filter did not stay attached to the metal oil filter base casing when your previous oil filter was removed and then your current oil filter was installed.
