Default 2004 STR rotors

Hi! Has anybody tried these rotors for the 2004 S type R with the brembo brakes, I asked if they were the 365mm & 330mm and their response was that these will fit. So I was wondering if any one has ordered from this company. I was quoted $420 for the front & rear rotors drilled & slotted $34 to ship good price just wondering on the quality. Ebay #320621179133 sorry can't post a link
Thanks in advance Paul

You'd be better off getting the brakeperformance.com cross-drilled and slotted. They are about the same price. I believe mine were 460 shipped. They are a company not an ebay seller and they are a perfect fit. I've been running the black coated ones for about 4 months now with no problems. I have bought ebay ones for another vehicle I used to have and the coating wore off in a few months and were already rusting where the pads werent hitting. After about a year they rusted from the inside out on the brake surface and the rotors were shot. So anything with brakes from ebay kinda has me leery. I'd rather buy from a website or store. The brakeperformance.com ones also have a lifetime warranty against defects so if they do what the ebay ones did they will be getting them back.

Do some searching on this topic as it has been covered so many times. There are several alternatives out there which are a whole lot cheaper than the OEM ones. Pads and rotors. The stock pads really stop the car well but they are so GD messy.

There's no need for cross drilled or slotted rotors on this car unless you're going to drive it on the track and then there are a whole lot of other issues to address.

I would stay away from the the cross drilled ones. You're just looking for problems. I have no idea what the dimpled ones are supposed to do except look like cross drilled but not crack.

If you just must have them to look cool then be aware of the potential issues regarding slotted and cross drilled rotors. There ARE benefits but there also ARE drawbacks. Do some research and not just on this website.

And i would be careful to make totally sure they are the right size as 95% of online searches do not give you the brembo size which is 365MM(14.4 inch) front and 330MM(13 inch rear)..non vented

and I second the comment about brake performance as well...good stuff and they lowered the price of the fronts by 50% since I was quoted 6 months ago

I have tried to order these before. They can not get them , they say that they are in engineering and not yet available for sale? I have had no response from EBC.

Apparently the rears really ARE 330mm even though the sales brochures (I have several!) say 300mm

Several people have used Rock Auto with good luck. You want Centric brand rotors. Search by part number. These are the correct rotors for the STR with factory Brembo brakes. 2003-2005. Remember the 2006-2008 STR had smaller rotors and a much simpler non Brembo brake system.

Fronts-Centric #12020018 $100 each
Back-Centric #12020019 $70 each

I don't think they'd fit (width-wise). Or if they were narrow enough then I think they'd be too weak maybe. Other jags with vented rear Brembos are 10-13mm wider to allow for the air gap etc.

The Centric brand are factory replacement so no the rear rotors are not vented on the STR with Brembo's.

Thanks JagV8 I did not think about the vented ones being wider. I wondered why they were not vented.

I'm slightly puzzled as to why jag didn't use vented Brembo rears as they did on some other of their other R cars. ("Didn't need"?)

It might have had to do with the separate emergency brake setup and that not being able to work on such a wide rotor? Stuff gets done for strange reasons when the production run is small.

Centric is the brand that brakeperformance.com sells. If you get there factory replacements that is what you will get.
