Default 2005 3.0 Engine Coolant Outlet Leak

My 2005 S-Type base 3.0 has about 120,000 miles. It has developed a coolant leak. I'm adding about 8 oz of coolant every 1,000 miles. It appears to be leaking at the engine coolant outlet, located in the center of the engine on top. Included here are photos I took and a coolant system diagram with the part identified as the engine coolant outlet. The diagram is available at JagParts.com.
I'm at a loss as to exactly what is involved in repairing this leak. The outlet, which appears to be made of aluminum is a "Y" design. One side of the "Y" points forward toward the radiator and is attached to a hose connected to the radiator. The opposite ends of the "Y" are connected to the engine. The portion closest to the engine oil fill cap has two bolts. The other portion is where the leak is - it is unclear to me how this portion is supposed to seal.
I'm hoping some members have experience with a leak at this location. I'd like to do the repair myself, as I previously replaced the radiator, coolant recovery tank (multiple times), DCCV, and all the struts/shocks over the past few years along with many other repairs, but am not sure what is involved in this repair. I've searched this forum, but have not come across anything related to a leak at this location. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Here is an exploded view from the parts catalogue that shows the hoses that should also be changed along with the water outlet sealing rings, which are items 9 and 10.

The two sealing rings carry JLR part numbers XR85353 and XR85356.

Mine is leaking there the same and I was wondering about fixing it, too.
Looks like it's a pressed in fit with an O-ring seal and held there by the other part of the "Y" via bolts to the block.
A new O-ring looks like it is all it needs if the tube is still in good shape and cleans off good.
And the other gasket, since that seal would have to be replaced, as well.

The outlet hose looks fine, but since I'll be replacing the outlet seals, I can replace the hose at the same time. You mentioned hoses - should I replace other nearby hoses?
Does the intake manifold need to be removed for access to remove the coolant outlet? Also, there are a few rigid hoses that may be in the way. . .any tips?
Would you rate this as a pita time consuming project or is it fairly simple and straight forward? I do not want to get in over my head. For example, when I replaced the radiator, it was time consuming but not beyond my abilities. When I needed the air conditioner compressor replaced, I had a local independent mechanic perform - he had all the necessary gauges and expertise and did an excellent job.
Have you seen any other member posts related to this repair? I thought the X-Type 3.0 might have a similar setup, but I could not find in their forum.

Yes, Looks like a chore to do it and I'm hoping the upper intake doesn't have to come off. I already took it off once to do the plugs on the right side. That was a chore in itself.
My leak isn't as bad. Maybe a few ounces of coolant every week.
I put the dye in to pinpoint and it is coming from there. Everything else is dry to the bone.
Maybe if I buy the two seals, it will give me some incentive to dig in.

I believe there's no need to remove the upper inlet manifold to access the water outlet, but it would be wise to replace any associated coolant hoses at the same time. If you're replacing the spark plugs, coil units or cam cover gasket on Bank1, it would be also a good time to replace the water outlet seals as access is easy.

Hindsight. I ordered the seals you gave part #'s for (thanks!). I just wanted to get the plugs in ASAP. They were never changed @150,000 miles and wanted to get this girl back on the road.
We'll see if it's just a sloppy coolant mess that's an easy install and a good water splashing on the engine when I'm done.

I just ordered both gaskets. Not to bad, one being $10 and the o-ring $6.
Thanks again for the part numbers. Just that one rigid hose in the way. Upper intake will not have to come off.

Got both **** rings today. One ribbed and the other regular. Waiting for some good weather to tackle it. The larger hose is fuel to injector rail and the other one I'm still fishing around for. Both are really stiff, but if I can flex them out of the way to at least get to the Y without having to take apart many things.
2005 S-Type 3.0L mine is, as well.
