Default 2005 front seats into 2000 S-type ?'s and JTIS help

Hello JaguarForums!

Im trying to do what the titles says and Im having a hard time making sense out of the JTIS seat systems diagram. Im sort of convinced I'm not looking at the right thing.

The 2005 seat I have is an 8 way with heat and im like 75% sure its not with memory. The Drivers seat has this big drivers seat module 8way that only shows up on the diagrams for seat versions with memory so I am confused.
Does the JTIS x2062004en.pdf apply to my 2005 seat? Not much seems to be matching up.

Anyone have experience with things like this? Care to chime in?

If i cant figure this wiring I might just try to remove the computer and wire the motors and seat controls separately, probably taking power from the harness coming out of the floor.

Ill might take pictures as well.

I can chime in as an owner of a 2000 S Type. Simply put - you cannot get the 2005 seats to work in the 2000 S Type (electronically anyway) and I'll bet they won't line up and bolt up to the floor either.

You would need to source front seats from a 2000 - 2002 S Type. The connectors, harnesses, etc will be different for 2003 and up S Types. If you start splicing the seat harness to attempt to hook up the 2005 seats your asking for trouble, especially with the seat air bags - you'll royally screw up the electronics in your car causing at minimum a "air bag" illumination on your dash.

I personally installed heated seats (from a 2001 S Type) in exchange for non-heated seats in my 2000 S Type. (the body harness has the heated seat connectors under the HVAC unit behind the dash)

I noticed your in NY - I'm in NJ.

I have the original set of front seats (non-heated) that I removed from my 2000 S Type. I scored a great deal on seats then I realized they were also heated seats and hooked them up to the original heated seat connector which was present. (and purchased the heated seat switches and dash insert and plugged in) and I now have fully functional factory heated seats...

They are ebony and are in great shape.

PM me if interested.

Thanks - hope the above information helps.

Anthony

Thanks for the chiming in Ab.

I already had the 05 seat sitting in the 2000 so the fit is taken care of.

I don't see myself having airbag issues. I can connect the seat sensor and airbag the correct way, or remove the airbag and sensor from the 2000 seat and install it on the 05, that way the values would have to add up as nothing would have changed.

The 05 seat is 10 way with memory. I don't have use for the memory function, so I removed the drivers seat module and associated wiring. When power is directly applied to any of the four motors they do their intended function, however when wired with the switch pack nothing happens. Volt check shows around 1 volt. Switch pack to motors seems to be wired correctly. Only thing that works is lumbar pump.

Making this seat work out of the car would be the first step so lets
say that's what I am trying to do.

Whats up with the driver seat switch pack? Why would it not be giving around 12 volts?
