Default 2005 S type 4.2

How long should it take a trained tech to change the thermostat in this car.
Also,is it necessary to completely drain the antifreeze to do so?

Just discuss it a head of time because all that is plastic and at this late date it will be rotten.

So plan on replacing more than just the thermostat.

Well I can do it under an hour no problem but I am not sure what the dealer time is.

Be sure and check for leaks. That plastic is very fragile.

We charge 2.3 as per alldata for the thermostat. So you're in the ballpark.

BUT consider yourself very lucky that the plastic matrix hose under the coolant recovery tank didn't break. You can breathe on it wrong and they do. My personal car self destructed the hose when we did it. As my brother said when it happened... "There are casualties in war".

Take care,

George
