2005 s type mirror with compass

Bought a rear view mirrow fron a 2005 s type with the compass.
I have a 2004 stype wit the auto dimming feature no compass.
Is it just plug and pay or do i need to do something
or is not not possible

I am contemplating the same thing with my 03 s type with the rain-sensing wipers. Found some on ebay, but not sure if I can upgrade or not. Hopefully someone in here can help.
