2005 s-type parking EPB issue - urgent
i jusy picked up my new to me 05 with 100k. i replaced the battery straight away wit a new correct bosch unit. i then went through the EPB reset procedure, and still the messages "unable to apply parking brake" and "parking brake fault" with the non-stop beeping. i read all the threads i could on the subject and tried disconnectng / reconnecting the module wiring behind the right rear boot lining, i tried pulling the F35 fuse. i do hear something moving / engaging / disengaging when listening with the door open. the brakes on the car otherwise feel good with no pulsing / pulling. is this a case of a bad module? can i just swap out the brainbox in the trunk? if so i would like to try to make it by jaguar parts before the they close today!!
if i cant remedy this today , is there a way to at least kill the beeping !!
thanks

well lads, the jaguar gods were merciful today. i took the left wheel off first, checked that things were moving when i attemt to apply the brake , cable end looked good. took the right wheel off and the cable was off the hook on the actuator. i re-attached it , lubed everything up as best as possible , and now the fault is gone and all seems to function as intended !! is there anything that could have cause that cable end to jump off? just to make sure it doesnt happen again

i am still taking in the outcome of this whole thing. i couldnt even guess.. the rotors have good meat on them , the pads so-so , but the rotors look like they were pulled from the sea with the corrosion in the middle fins, so it doesnt look to me like a fairly recent job. i suspect the gremlins!!! now i can breathe a sigh of relief for a while that is....
